After taking a powerful weekend film production seminar taught by Dov Simens, I was moved deeply enough to put my existing screenplays to the side and start writing a feature film that I could afford to produce and direct. It had to be scifi, it had to say something relevant about modern '1st world' living, and it had to be cheap.
Dov strongly suggested first films being slasher films all at one location with only a few setups. While I love the occasional horror film, I don't see myself making them unless they are scifi and have something relevant to say about humanity.
BUT ... a feature film about human relationships set in a dystopic world where the global environment has collapsed and everyone lives in quarantine, underground, in small housing units, ruled over by a totalitarian government ... maybe I do like horror after all?
After years of writing and re-writing, I'm finally at the point where I want to see this film made and I'm willing to do whatever I can to make it. That includes dealing with my biggest fears, namely other people and trust.
If there is no fear, there is no adventure. If there is no fear, there is no growth. Let me tell you, I am excited!!!
